This Throggs Neck doctors’ office offers easy access.
Dermatology and Surgery Associates, located on the second floor of the Lauren Professional Building at 3620 E. Tremont Avenue, would like to make the community aware that they now have an elevator to help older and infirm patients.
After purchasing the building, their landlord installed the lift to bring patients to the second floor practice, said Robin Rosen, wife of practice partner Dr. Douglas Rosen.
Two other dermatologists are in the practice, Dr. Eugene Whang and Dr. Louisa Tift, which like all medical practices see patients at every stage of their lives, she said.
“When the building changed ownerships, the landlord was determined to provide the community with as many as services as possible,” said Robin Rosen. “He was very creative in introducing the lift in an already established, constructed environment. The accessibility has been tremendously embraced by the community for obvious reasons: it is a long flight of steps.”
The lift, which links the lobby to the second floor doctors offices, helps to serve an increasing elderly population, and also young mothers with strollers, she said.
“This could be for older people and younger children, and everyone in between who may have a broken leg but a need in dermatology,” she said.
“An elevator comes in handy for a multitude of reasons for various age groups, for various times of their lives,” Rosen added. “It is really for everyone at all times regardless of your health.”
Dermatology and Surgery Associates has been in Throggs Neck for about 30 years.
They provide a variety of treatments for adult and pediatric conditions including skin cancer, acne, warts, hair/nail disorders, rosacea, and eczema.
