Bring the noise! The borough’s annual New York Salutes America fireworks celebration at Orchard Beach is coming back!

The Bronx’s annual promenade festival and fireworks spectacular will blast off at Orchard Beach on Friday, June 27 from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Hosted by Senator Jeff Klein (D–Morris Park) and Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr, performances at the bandstand next to the Orchard Beach Pavilion will kick off at 7 pm, and the Grucci Brothers firworks will be lit just after dusk at 9 pm. A magic show, face-painting, and balloon art for children will also be on the card.

The two pols, who host the event that is run by the Bronx Tourism Council, welcomed all to the beach and the promenade for the fun.

“With warm weather and the start of the summer, I am looking forward to one of my favorite events of the year — the Bronx Fireworks Spectacular,” said Klein. “This celebration is a great chance for Bronxites to enjoy music, food and, of course, fireworks with friends and family.”

Klein added that the event is also a way to honor veterans.

“It provides an opportunity for us to salute the brave men and women who serve our country and defend our freedoms,” he said. “With the Fourth of July right around the corner, our Fireworks Extravaganza is a great time to commemorate all who have sacrificed so much to protect our country.”

The event, which was started by the late state Sen. Guy Velella, has blossomed into what Diaz called “a borough tradition.”

“I invite Bronxites from all corners of our borough to come to Orchard Beach and join myself, Sen. Klein, and thousands of our neighbors to celebrate the patriotic spirit of the Bronx and the birth of this great nation,” said Diaz. “Bronxites will enjoy live music and food at one of the crown jewels of the Bronx but most importantly, as we celebrate with our family and friend.”

Transportation to and from Orchard Beach is available that evening on the Bx12 bus, and parking is available.
