Bronxites looking for work now have a new resource at their disposal. Senator Jeff Klein joined the Bronx Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, July 9 to announce a $200,000 grant secured toward the H.I.R.E (Help Identify Real Employment) program. The program gives Bronx workers the chance to get help with resumes, interviews and other parts of the employment application process. It will also help ensure that Bronx businesses hire local residents, said Klein. The employment push is crucial to a borough that has long had New York’s highest jobless rate.
