BINGO!

On Friday, July 11 a Bingo Night was held at the Guiding Star Knights of Columbus Hall and International Caterers of Distinction on Ampere Avenue in Spencer Estate. Senator Jeff Klein sponsored the bingo night, and he called numbers. The Spencer Estate Civic Association provided coffee and cookies. There were homemade carrot cakes and chocolate cakes baked by Barbara Fleming. The guests won certificates to neighborhood restaurants. One lucky winner won two tickets to the Elmsford Dinner Theater. The next bingo will take place at the Edgewater Firehouse in August.

Rotary Club News

The Bronx Rotary Club held a sunset meeting and club fellowship on Tuesday, July 1, with immediate past president of the club Ralph Scottino being presented with a plaque by the club’s new president Rick Sherman.

They also held a club fellowship on Tuesday, July 8 were members Nancy Wallace and Bruce Wallace celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Then on Tuesday, July 15, guest speaker Shannon Prohaszka, a director of the Lois Bronz Children Center in White Plains spoke about the work of that organization.
