Belmont and Arthur avenues, the Bronx’s Little Italy, came alive on Sunday, September 7 during the celebration of Ferragosto. A Belmont celebration for the more than 15 years, the Ferragosto tradition in Italian culture recognizes the end of the harvest season and the enjoyment of the fruits of those labors. It is billed as a way for families to engage in part of their Italian culture and traditions. People enjoyed music, entertainment, and food.
