NY Rising, part of the state’s response to Hurricane Sandy, holds second storm resiliency forum

Governor Cuomo’s New York Rising initiative held its second community meeting designed to identify strategies to deal with emergencies related to coastal damage due to hurricanes for the East Bronx Waterfront area.

The public forum was held at Providence Rest Nursing Home on Wednesday, September 17. After a short presentation, the audience members met with representatives from NY Rising, which is continuing to gather input from the area as was previously reported. They will come back soon with some suggestions on how to make the waterfront area less fragile in the wake of storms like Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene, and Tropical Storm Lee.
