Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. hosted his annual celebratory luncheon for Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month, ‘Mese della Cultura Italiana.’ The event took place at the Schiff Family Great Hall on the grounds of the Bronx Zoo on Thursday, October 16. The honorees for 2014 were former United States Senator Alphonse ‘Al’ D’Amato, Department of Sanitation supervisor Paul Visconti, and the owner of Mt. Carmel Pharmacy in Belmont, Armand Paganelli. The event’s emcee was meteorologist Mike Favetta of News 12 The Bronx.
