First African-American to attain Federal Reserve prominance speaks at SCA

St. Catharine Academy alumna Valerie Rainford (class of ‘86) returned to the school to speak with students on Tuesday, November 4.

Rainford worked at the Federal Reserve for twenty one years, attaining the position of senior vice president, and was the first African-American woman to reach that position in the Federal Reserve. She is currently working at JP Morgan Chase in a senior leadership position.

She recently published a memoir, ‘Until the Brighter Tomorrow’.
