Honors for Durante

The deceased longtime commander of the American Legion Lawrence F. Keane Post 1498, Lou Durante, had his name added to a monument listing names of deceased war veterans on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11. The monument is in Pelham Bay’s Keane Square Park. His daughter, Rosemary Tangredi, reports that among the attendees to witness the honor were Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, Durante’s wife Lilly Durante, daughter Gina Navarro, his son-in-law Ralph Tangredi, and his grandson Louis Navarro and cousin Joseph Durante who carried the American Legion and United States flags during the ceremony.

Dart Champs

The Throggs Neck Clipper, at 3599 East Tremont Avenue, wants the world to know that it recently won a dart competition. The report they were Summer League Eastern Division Champs. Way to go!
