WW II Veteran Dies

Arthur Smith, 98, passed away recently and is being remembered by his nephew, Walter Kellermann, who tells us he is a faithful Bronx Times Reporter reader who picks up the paper at the Throggs Neck Clipper.

Kellerman says Smith was a World War II veteran who served in England. After the war, he worked for New York City Transit. He lived in Edgewater Park.

Just Nuts Plays

Empire Casino

Victor Sabatini, a band member of the Throggs Neck-based Just Nuts Party Band, reports that the ensemble had a great show at Empire City Casino in Yonkers.

It was a great night out. Special thanks to Dennis Dion Nardone, WVOX Disc Jockey, for spinning some great tunes and to Vincent Defeo for joining us on stage. We will be back at the casino on Saturday, March 28. For more info, call Barbara Antes at (914) 773-7773. Special thanks to Laura of the Bronx Times Reporter.
