The 17th annual Throggs Neck St. Patrick’s Day Parade benefited from good weather, with about 50 marching groups and approximately 20 bands making their way down East Tremont Avenue on Sunday, March 15. The parade stepped off at Lafayette Avenue at noon. There was a reviewing stand at Harding Avenue, with thousands of viewers lining the route.
Local Throggs Neck couple Agnes and Pat Lynch and Msgr. John Graham, the pastor of St. Raymond Church, were honored.
A pre-parade Mass and breakfast for parade goers was held at St. Benedict Church. James McQuade of Schuyler Hill Funeral Home sponsored the meal.
