SJSD, LSB, and NYISE Honor Benedetto

On Thursday, May 21, St. Joseph’s School for the Deaf, Lavelle School for the Blind, and New York Institute for Special Education participated in a Spirit Day Parade which began from SJSD and concluded in front of Assemblyman Michael Benedetto’s East Tremont Avenue district office. Thanks to efforts made by both Assemblyman Benedetto and his colleagues, SJSD and its community of 4,201 schools have received increased statewide funding approximating $2.3 million which is their first increase in nearly six years. All three schools thanked Benedetto for his dedication and support to their schools by presenting the assemblyman with awards and certifications of achievement as an expression of their everlasting gratitude.
