The Mott Hall Community School in Throggs Neck held its Family Science Night on Thursday, January 8. Both students and parents participated in science experiments, which saw the youth taking part in several fun activities like making lava lamps. The school teamed up with Urban Advantage, a middle school science initiative that promotes education in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. The New York Botanical Gardens was on hand to help the students learn about science through several of the night’s experiments.
