Mother remembered
The children of Carmela Bibbo want to thank all those who helped them and their mom before she passed away on Friday, January 23.
We would like to thank all who were with us during this trying time. The love and support we received from so many people will never be forgotten. A special heartfelt thanks to Providence Rest as they stood by our side through it all. Sisters, staff, residents and families gave their time, guidance, love and support that was incredibly helpful and comforting to our family. We also would like to extend our appreciation to the outstanding hospice staff at Calvary Hospital for their special kindness and prayers.
Our mom was truly wonderful. She was caring, thoughtful and loving woman who put everyone else before herself. She was devoted to her husband Amleto Bibbo (Matty) of 65 years, her three children (John, Mark and Filippa) and their spouses, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mom arrived with her family at the age of two from Avellino, Italy and spent a very special part of her youth with the sisters of the Pallottine order in Harriman, NY. And how wonderful that she was able to spent her last days in the loving care of the Sisters at Providence Rest! For Mom and all of us, this was truly a blessing! Our hearts are consoled knowing that our mom who was so kindhearted, thoughtful and giving here on earth is now in the loving arms and safety of our Lord. She will always be in our hearts and prayers. May her loving family continue to carry out her legacy and follow in her footsteps. Rest in peace Mom. We love you.

• Airman Travis Mills is an aviation boatswains mate aboard the aircraft carrier operating out of Yokosuka, Japan
• Petty Officer 2nd Class Febis Soto, a graduate of Taft High School, is serving as a boatswain’s mate aboard a destroyer operating out of Yokosuka, Japan, roughly 35 miles from Tokyo.
