Nearly 48 years after his tragic death, Bronxites are keeping Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream alive. Last Sunday, January 17, the Miracle Revival Temple and Fellowship Tabernacle Youth Church held a special ceremony commemorating Dr. King’s legacy at their 1555 Macombs Road location. Held a day before the federal holiday, this event featured performances by the Miracle Revival Center’s youth choir and a public rendition of Dr. King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech by actor Ronald Haynie, best known for his portrayal of the slain civil rights leader. Also in attendance was Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson who addressed the congregation on the celebration’s significance in her riveting speech.
