Held four days before the Feast of St. Patrick, the 18th annual Throggs Neck St. Patrick’s Day Parade had Bronxites cheering ‘Erin go braugh’ this past Sunday, March 13. The annual Bronx parade began at noon with many marching groups and bands stepping off at Lafayette Avenue and traveling down East Tremont Avenue before stopping briefly at the Harding Avenue reviewing stand as thousands of ecstatic spectators lined the route cheering them onward. Prior to the parade, local elected officials attended a Mass and afterwards served breakfast at a customary event held inside Fr. Albert Hall of St. Benedict Church. This year’s 2016 grand marshals, David and Noreen Kilkenny, community activists and Gaelic football enthusiasts and honored clergy Fr. Christopher Devron, Fordham Prep president, were introduced.
