A police officer was honored at the 45th Precinct Community Council meeting on Thursday, June 7 as the precinct’s ‘Cop of the Month.’ Police officer Darren Sukennikoff was honored after he apprehended a man who fired a handgun out of the passenger window of a Mercedes SUV. Sukennikoff and his partner police officer Martha Nova pursued the suspect both in a vehicle and on foot, and were able to recover a loaded .44 caliber Ruger revolver. The defendant was charged with multiple felony counts, and information from the precinct’s Community Affairs Office congratulated both on great job.
