62-year-old Wakefield man suffers medical episode behind the wheel, fatally crashes into parked car

A 62-year-old man died in a fatal collision in Wakefield yesterday, police reported.

While driving through the intersection of E. 230th Street and Carpenter Avenue at about 8:20 p.m., the man “experienced a medical episode” that caused him to collide his 2004 Honda sedan with a parked car on E. 230th street, according to the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.

The man was taken to Montefiore Hospital by EMS personnel where he was pronounced deceased.

Police also said there were no other reported injuries as a result of this incident.
