Local elected officials joined 500 residents in honoring distinguished Puerto Rican trailblazers helping to better our borough and NYC. Hosted by council members Ruben Diaz, Sr. and Rafael Salamanca; Senator Luis Sepulveda and assembly members Marcos Crespo and Victor Pichardo, the annual ‘Abrazo Boricua in New York’ was celebrated on Thursday, June 7 at Maestro’s Caterers. This year’s leaders were Estel Fonseca, Mount Hope Housing Company vice president of Youth and Adult Services; Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez and Raul Russi, Acacia Network chief executive officer.
