Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield hosted a distinct event in honor of Father’s Day on June 12 at 968 Southern Blvd. The event held food distribution managed by the Open Hand Association, complimentary haircuts;and a mobile clinic by Ryan Health providing essential health services. Comunidad Latinx Inc. was also present, distributing juices, treats, hats and skincare products.
Wendy Dominguez, the Community Outreach manager from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield spoke on the Fathers Day Health event. She spoke about inviting a lot of different organizations like Destination Tomorrow, New York City Safe Sleep and their Medicare Team, and Barbers to treat men present with haircuts. She also spoke about ensuring men get the resources that they need by reminding them to take care of their health.
