Armed robbery in Claremont nets jewelry, cash and phone

An armed robbery took place in the Claremont section of the Bronx where thieves made off with cash, a phone and jewelry.

According to the NYPD, on Aug. 12, at 1:10 a.m., three Black men ranging from 20-30 years old, approached two men, a 40-year-old and a 36-year-old, in the vicinity of 1299 Franklin Ave. The trio of men demanded their property and one of the individuals brandished a handgun.

The victims complied and handed over their jewelry, a cell phone and $130. The individuals fled the scene inside two vehicles: a black Infiniti sedan westbound on East 169 Street and a Silver Lexus sedan northbound on Franklin Avenue.
