Bronx CB7, Yankees youth scholarship application deadline April 17

Bronx Community Board 7, in partnership with the New York Yankees, is looking for youth to apply for its 2023 Youth Leadership Award scholarship program.

Applicants must reside within the confines of CB7. To assure address qualifications, please enter your information at the “Who Represents Me” tab at http://www.mygovnyc.org/.

The ideal age group is 14 to 18 years old however, if one of the candidates is a bit younger (13 years old), and is active in the community, they may be eligible for the scholarship.

Required materials include: A resume, which includes education, voluntary and/or extracurricular activities, and if applicable, work experience, award(s) received, report card, etc; and a reference letter from school, a volunteer group, and/or a volunteer organization stating that the applicant has performed 50 hours of leadership/volunteer work as a tutor, mentor, community unity developer, and/or as a community organizer against violence, bullying, and/or any other advocacy effort.

The selected recipient will be awarded $750 and be recognized on the field at Yankee Stadium during a pre-game ceremony.

Applications must be submitted by noon on April 17 at the latest.
