A lucky Bronx resident is nearly $19,000 richer after purchasing a top-prize TAKE 5 ticket for Friday’s midday drawing.
The New York Lottery announced that one winning ticket, worth $18,931, was sold at 912 JAIRO DELI GROCERY CORP, located at 912 Soundview Ave. in the Bronx.
The winning numbers were drawn on April 19 during the midday broadcast, which airs daily at 2:30 p.m. TAKE 5 players pick five numbers from a field of one through 39, with top prizes awarded to tickets that match all five numbers.
Winners have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
The New York Lottery is the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, generating $3.8 billion in funding for public schools across the state in fiscal year 2023-2024.
