Saturday, Feb. 25

Buckets for the Bronx: 3-v-3 Community Classic: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at The Apex Center at Lehman College

Spend Saturday on the court at this 3-v-3 basketball tournament. Organized by Kingsbridge Unidos and Cash Cow NYC, the tournament is free to enter and open to high school students of all genders. Winners can earn prizes including Knicks tickets, Visa gift cards and Cash Cow merchandise. The Bronx Bike Collective will also be in attendance, hosting a pop-up bike repair workshop for interested participants. Register for free and find more information here.

Family Movie Day: “Avatar”: 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Jerome Park Library

Join the Jerome Park Library for a family viewing of “Avatar” followed by a discussion of the film’s themes. Coloring pages for children and snacks will be provided. Interested participants can find more information here.

Seal Exploration: 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Pelham Bay Park

Get a taste of the city’s diverse wildlife and search for seals with the Urban Park Rangers. Visit the best viewing spots in the city and see if you can catch a glimpse of a seal in the Long Island Sound. You’re in luck— winter is the best time to spot them. Further information can be found here.

Woodlawn’s Black History Month Trolley Tour: 12 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery

Take a trolley tour of Woodlawn Cemetery and visit the memorials of celebrated Black figures, including Florence Mills, Madame C.J. Walker, James H. Williams and Duke Ellington. The tour will be lead by Eric K. Washington, historian and author of the award-winning biography, “Boss of the Grips: The Life of James H. Williams and the Red Caps of Grand Central Terminal.” Tickets are available for purchase here.

Warp Trio Concert: 2 p.m.-3 p.m. at Wave Hill House

Join the Warp Trio for an electrifying performance this Sunday at Wave Hill. The four-member “trio” combines their classic Juilliard training with rock and jazz roots to create an experience unlike anything you’ve heard before.
