Bronx Borough Arts Festival

The Bronx Borough Arts Festival will kick off their academic year-end art show this Friday. The annual show celebrates the artistry and vision of local students and their teachers in arts exhibitions and performances. Join students artists, their families, friends, and community members in honoring the achievements of rising and established talents. This year’s art show, hosted at the Lehman College Art Gallery, will be on view until June 18.

Saturday, June 15

Bronx Vegan Bazaar 

Noon to 6 p.m. 

Free

The Bronx Vegan Bazaar continues its summer programming this Saturday at Fordham Plaza. The bazaar, hosted every third Saturday from May to October, will feature local vegan vendors and the sonic talents of DJ Sabrosura. Join fellow Bronxites at the expo for a day of healthy and sustainable eats and community connection.

Bronx Community Cookout 

Noon to 4 p.m. 

Free

Bronxite DJ Simba will host a community cookout this Saturday sponsored by Youth Ministers for Peace and Justice and the student government of Bronx Community College. Enjoy an afternoon of free food and drink, as well as eats from local vendors, and music performances by hip hop celebrity guests.

Bronx School for Music Faculty Concert 

6:30 to 8 p.m.

The Bronx School for Music’s faculty members will perform their musical gifts at the Bronx School for Music’s outdoor performance space. The program, featuring the magnum opuses of Saint-Saens, Sarasate, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and more, will serve the dual purpose of celebrating the successes of the Bronx School for Music. 

The evening of music will be preceded by a pre-concert reception, and all proceeds from the event will go towards providing scholarships for students who need financial aid.

Fordham Bedford Lot-Busters Community Garden Volunteer Days

11a.m. to 3:30p.m.

Seasoned gardeners and community members just fostering their green thumb are invited to the Fordham Bedford Lot-Busters Community Garden Volunteer Days. Plant, weed, and curate the community garden in good company for an afternoon. All volunteers will be provided with tools on-site, so Bronxites need only bring an enthusiasm for bloom!
