Open Mic Friday Night Live: 7 p.m-10 p.m. at Zambo Aroma, 3848 White Plains Road

Calling all performing artists – singers, dancers, poets, comics, live painters, actors and more! Showcase your skills on stage in front of a live audience. To perform at the open mic, just pay the cover fee of $10 before checking in with the open mic host before the performance, which starts at 8 p.m. Purchase your tickets for $11.36 on Eventbrite. The performance will also be streaming on Zambo Aroma’s Instagram page, @zamboaroma.

 

Saturday, Sept. 2

The Bronx Bash Scavenger Hunt: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Emilia’s, 2331 Arthur Ave.

Be adventurous and join in a creative, non-traditional scavenger hunt. After receiving your digital quest from your live and interative remote host, you’ll be on your own as you get a chance to experience a wide variety of various indoor and outdoor locations in the neighborhood and uncover hidden gems and local secrets. The Bronx in Color: Pop Out & Paint x Artist Showcase: 12 p.m.-7 p.m. at The Bronx Brewery & Empanology, 856 E. 136th St.

Enjoy a creative, vibrant space that is both free and therapeutic. This exhibit, based off of the “Paint and Sit” exhibition in Atlanta, will bring the community together through art creativity, showcasing local creatives’ products such as natural oils and crystals, handmade stationery and much more. Sponsored by the Bronx Brewery, the Bronx Council on the Arts the NYC Citizens Committee, “the Bronx in Color” event is part of the True Colors BX project by Bronx Art Sanctuary (Paint By Les). Judy Torres performing live at Garden Bar & Grill: 5 p.m.-10 p.m. at Garden Bar & Grill, 3392 E. Tremont Ave.

Enjoy good food and good music as freestyle legened Judy Torres performs some of her classics from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Classic Tour at Yankee Stadium: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Yankee Stadium, 1 E. 161st St.

Take a tour of one of the famed stadiums in all of professional sports! Since the Yankees are out of town this weekend, why not go to the legendary Yankee Stadium and learn more about the history of the Bronx Bombers for only $30. Enjoy a one-hour tour which includes a visit to Monument Park and a display of several historic baseball artifacts. Reserve a spot for this event here, and also enjoy lunch at the stadium’s Hard Rock Cafe. Guests will enter through the Hard Rock Cafe, adjacent to Gate 6 (on the corner of 161st Street and River Avenue). It is requested that tour guests arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled tour time.
