Community Board 5 agreed Wednesday night to send a letter of support to the Parks Department for its planned renovations to Davidson Playground.

CB5 Chairman Dr. Bola Omotosho said the board is behind this project 100 percent.

“My suggestion is we support this fully,” he said.

This project will construct Davidson Park with a total budget of $11.23 million from Mayor Bill de Blasio. It is currently in the design phase, which is expected to be completed in the fall.

The upgraded site will have three main use areas: swings, play equipment and spray showers. The play equipment will be a sequence of game and fitness elements connected by universally accessible ramps and will be surrounded with benches. The spray shower area will contain spray features of different intensity and height for various comfort and ability levels.

Site utilities, including water supply, storm sewer and security lighting will also be fully upgraded. The new Davidson Park will be constructed with an emphasis on children’s play.
