Being raised in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue, I have always called the Bronx home. During the 1970s, when the Bronx was burning, its impact is still felt today. The Bronx continues to thrive and grow as a strong borough where many businesses, property owners and developers want to do business.

The Bronx has provided me with many opportunities and blessings, so having the ability and resources to give back to the Bronx is rewarding. As a banker for more than 40 years in the Bronx, I have been able to help small businesses, nonprofits, professionals, property owners and developers provide services and housing so desperately needed by the residents of the Bronx. It is enriching and gratifying to improve the quality of life for many residents in the borough. I have developed long-term relationships with my clients to the point that they are more like family.

As the Bronx Market manager for Orange Bank & Trust, I envision having at least three branches in the Bronx that can service the many different markets and multicultural residents. As the new chair of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, my vision is to continue supporting the Bronx’s small businesses through the many programs and resources provided by the chamber. In addition, I am on the board of R.A.I.N, which supports many seniors throughout the borough. These organizations are a blessing and provide ongoing support to the Bronx, and I am proud to serve on these boards.

Millions of dollars are being invested in the Bronx to improve local infrastructure, like areas such as the Hunts Point Market and the four new Metro-North stations. I look forward to continuing to do my part to make the Bronx a borough that provides an excellent quality of life for the many residents and businesses here. It would be my legacy to create employment, build strong business and personal relationships that last for generations.

Vision without action is just a dream, action without vision just passes the time, and vision with action can change the world. I trust that the time given to me will be well lived by the people I have touched and the family I walk away with. Long live the Bronx.
