To the Editor,
The woke germ seems to have infected the New York Public Library so much so that even its public announcements toe this line.
Last week, I was in the Morris Park Branch and looked at the announcement on the door. It said in normal type that it would be closed in honor of Columbus Day and right below in bigger and bold type “& Indigenous People’s Day.”
It is one thing to proclaim that the day is also Indigenous People’s Day. It is wrong to glorify it over Columbus Day. By the way, I am not a descendant of Italian immigrants. Just an American outraged over how our public institutions have given in to the woke agenda.
