Man Struck By Van Hospitalized

Police are investigating a man who was knocked down while crossing a road in Soundview. The incident occurred at Cross Bronx Expressway North Bronx Service Road and Ellis Avenue on Sunday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. Police said the pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was crossing the intersection when he was struck by the van’s side view mirror. He was felled by the impact and struck his head on the street. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition. The van’s driver, Stevenson Lora, remained at the scene.
