Police are looking for a man that robbed and knocked over an elderly man in Bedford Park earlier this month.

It was reported that the 80-year-old man was walking in front of 246 E. 199th St. when he was approached from behind by the thief at 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 7.

The man tried taking the senior’s backpack by force, causing the victim to fall to the ground as he resisted the robbery, according to the NYPD.

He was dragged on the ground until letting go of the backpack, sustaining minor lacerations to his knee which he refused medical attention for, police say.

The perp fled eastbound on E. 199th Street and has not been seen by authorities since.

Police released this footage of the incident.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this male is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
