The McDonald’s, located at 85 Bruckner Blvd. in the Bronx, celebrated its one-year grand reopening anniversary on June 11. The community held a day of fun with the help of the Bronx youth group, MWAM (Music With a Message) and the NYPD Game Truck, as well as some members of the NYPD.

The event was held and hosted by Luciana Montuoro, the marketing outreach person for Toli Management, the company that helped fund the celebration. The event featured many engaging activates attendees could partake in. The store was recently wrapped with a colorful art creation done by a New York-based Ecuadorian artist Carla Torres, which added a vibrant colorful background that celebrated all things Ecuadorian.

The NYPD Game Truck arrived to entertain children, allowing them to play video games in the convenience of a large truck made specifically for kids. Following the truck’s departure, MWAM showed up to perform and encourage others to dance and sing alongside them.

The event served as a community celebration and anniversary commemoration of the McDonald’s.

Montuoro said the turnout of the event was great and explained the joy in seeing people dance on the sidewalk and enjoy the festivities being held in honor of the McDonald’s.

“It was just nice to see people smiling and just coming out and celebrating and dancing … just to see the kids and the community of kids and the parents and the NYPD,” Montuoro said.
