NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray joined U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy, Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services Dr. Herminia Palacio and Commissioner of Health Dr. Mary Bassett in touring Montefiore Medical Center’s Wellness Center at 1510 Waters Place on Thursday, June 30. The tour was part of the U.S. Surgeon General’s national campaign to address America’s prevalent prescription drug and opioid crisis in line with First Lady McCray’s efforts to combat negative attitudes about mental illness in NYC.
