A pedestrian is recovering after being struck while crossing outside of a crosswalk in Soundview. On Thursday, March 14 at 6:15 a.m., 43rd Precinct police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a SUV at Story and Rosedale avenues. According to police, the SUV was traveling southbound on Rosedale Avenue and the pedestrian was crossing mid-block of Rosedale Avenue from east to west outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver remained on the scene after striking the pedestrian. EMS transported the pedestrian to Jacobi Hospital in critical, but stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation, however police said it does not appear criminal.
