Permits have been filed for the construction of a 5-story residential building with 25 housing units on the vacant lot at 2293 Bathgate Ave. in Belmont.
The proposed building would be 50 feet tall and yield 17,380 square feet of space. With an average unit scope of 695 square feet, the 25 residences will most likely be rentals.
A rear yard stretching 27 feet in length is planned for the property. Notable nearby features include Washington Park, Bathgate Playground, the Thorpe Family Playground, P.S. 23 The New Children’s School and P.S. 59 The Community School of Technology. There are also bus stops within close proximity to the property for the Bx15 and Bx41 lines.
The building applications were submitted by Jacob Jacobowitz of Dean Street Realty LLC. The applications list Gladmore Mwandiambira of Baobab Architects as the architect of record for the proposed project.
Since 2293 Bathgate Ave. is just a vacant lot, it is unlikely that demolition permits will be needed. An estimated completion date for the project’s construction has not yet been provided.
