Runners tested their endurance during New York Road Runners’ 15K cross country race across Van Cortlandt Park’s rugged terrain on Sunday, December 4 while celebrating the late Pete McArdle, a local running legend and Ireland native.
McArdle became an American citizen in 1962 and won the 10,000 meter gold and marathon bronze medals at the 1963 Pan American Games.
