Police need your help solving a double shooting in Mott Haven.

According to police, 40th Precinct police officers responded to a double shooting near East 139th Street and Brook Avenue on Friday, December 28 at 9:55 p.m.

An unidentifed suspect approached the first victim, a 45-year-old man, and displayed a weapon.

The suspect then fired his weapon at least twice striking the first victim in his hip.

A 21-year-old man was also struck in his ankle during the attack while he was crossing Brook Avenue.

EMS responded and transported both victims to local hospital in stable condition.

Police said a verbal dispute between the suspect and the first victim occurred prior to the shooting.

They confirmed that the 45-year-old man was the intended target and that the 21-year-old man was an innocent bystander.
