Police need your help finding a suspect wanted in connection for a homicide in Parkchester.

According to police, 43rd Precinct police officers responded to a report of a male shot in front of 2167 Westchester Avenue on Thursday, December 20 at 6:16 p.m.

Upon arrival, police discovered an unconscious 23-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his lower back.

EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made in this ongoing investigation.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a black male in his 20s.

He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jacket, blue jeans and red shoes.

A police source said that prior to the incident the suspect had a verbal dispute with the victim.
