A residential fire in the Claremont Village section of the Bronx early Sunday morning resulted in one death, according to the NYPD.

Police reported that a 59-year-old woman was discovered inside of an apartment at 1408 Webster Ave. after fire officials extinguished the blaze at the building. The woman, whose identity wasn’t disclosed by cops, was transported by EMS to BronxCare Health System Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The FDNY told the Bronx Times in a statement Monday that officials got the call at 12:47 a.m. Sunday morning, and that the fire — which was started on the 13th floor of the 21-story high rise — wasn’t marked under control until 1:55 a.m. Twenty FDNY units with 78 personnel responded to the scene, the agency said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the FDNY.

The fire on Sunday morning took place just about 17 hours before another major blaze in the Bronx over the weekend.

A five-alarm fire at 1420 Noble Ave. in Soundview sent one firefighter to the hospital with “serious injuries,” officials said. First responders were met with heavy fire in the top floor of the apartment before it spread to other parts of the building. According to fire officials, the fire caused “extensive” smoke and water damage to at least three floors of the apartment building.
