What has served as the home for the The Sisters of the Divine Compassion since 2003, is now on the market.

On Monday, The Sisters of the Divine Compassion announced that it has listed the property at 2800 Schurz Ave. for sale.

“In 2003, the number of Sisters living at Preston High School exceeded the amount of space available at the school,” said President of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, Sister Laura Donovan. “The property, which we purchased from the Augustinian Priests, served as our beloved Holy Family Convent. It not only provided a home for several of our Sisters, it also allowed for additional space for the expanding student body at Preston High School.

Over the years, the Holy Family Convent became a fixture in the neighborhood. We are very grateful to have been part of such a wonderful community. We were truly blessed with abundant love and wonderful relationships with Preston students and staff, local neighbors and friends.”

In September 2019, the Sisters of the Divine Compassion vacated the premises when the Sisters living in the Convent moved to assisted living facilities. Since then, the Sisters have worked with experts in property management and real estate to prepare for the sale.

“It is time for the Sisters of the Divine Compassion to offer our beloved Holy Family Convent to new owners/residents with our blessings for a bright future,” Sister Laura added.
