Environmental contractors were called to action after a freight train derailed this past weekend in Hunts Point.
The derailment happened on Sunday, February 19 around 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Point Rail Yard near Bruckner Boulevard and Leggett Avenue
The FDNY initially said the train was shipping diesel fuel, but CSX confirmed it was carrying produce.
One of the refrigeration cars ruptured causing a small amount of fuel to spill.
Five cars were involved in the incident.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
