The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation’s after-school team hosted a Family Engagement Night event at P.S./I.S. 218 on Friday, June 8. The evening was designed to give youngsters and their parents access to fun educational activities and promote learning in Language Arts, as well as in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The evening fit into the larger goal of ensuring that young people don’t lose ground academically during the summer recess from school.
