On Jan. 4, nearly 70% of the residents at Williamsbridge Center on Tomlinson Avenue received their first dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

However, only 12% of the staff consented to be vaccinated.

This mirrors the regional and national trends that’s been happening at nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities.  Williamsbridge Center leadership were hoping more staff would accept the  vaccine when Walgreens pharmacists returned to the facility on Jan 25.

While many nursing homes have experienced a strong second wave of the virus, Williamsbridge Center thankfully hasn’t seen many cases, only one over the past month.
